Iconic singer-songwriter Elton John turned 70 on Saturday! In true Elton fashion, the star rang in hisbirthday with a glittering Hollywood bash. Along with his husband, David Furnish, the legend celebrated the milestone day with a L.A. gala that boastedA-list guests like: Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and even Prince Harry!

The evening event, which washeld at Red Studios, honored Elton’s fabulous career with Rob Lowe taking onhost duties. Like an awards ceremony, Elton’s birthday featured musicalperformances by Lady Gaga, Ryan Adams, Rosanne Cash and Stevie Wonder. Gaga, who is godmother to the birthday-boy's two sons, and Stevie, notably joined forces to perform Stevie's 1980 hit Happy Birthday. Stevie also sang Elton's 1973 song Daniel, while Lady Gaga also performed her 2011 single Born This Way for the crowd. Othercelebrity attendees included: Neil Patrick Harris, Ryan Phillippe, Jon Hamm, James Corden and Heidi Klum.

Prince Harry made amemorable cameo at the event, appearing in video-form to wish the singer a happy day.The royal emulated one of Elton’s signature looks, wearing 70s style star-shapedsunglasses. E! News reported that hewas also seen pretending to read from the July 2016 issue of UK's gay magazine Attitude, which featured him and hisbrother Prince William on the cover. The royals have remained close to Elton,who was good friends with Harry and William’s mother Princess Diana. Elton washeartbroken after her 1997 death, honoring her with a personalized remake ofhis hit song Candle in the Wind.

Elton’s 50-year writingpartnership with Bernie Taupin was also spotlighted at the gala, which benefitedboth the Elton John AIDS Foundation andthe Hammer Museum at UCLA. Ahead ofthe event, Elton spoke with Beats 1’s Zane Lowe, saying, “Some people don’tlike birthdays, they don’t like celebrating, they don’t want to know aboutthem, and I’ve always enjoyed my birthday… Seventy sounds so archaic, doesn’tit? When I was growing up, 70 sounded like the end of the world. But thingshave changed — you’re only as old as you feel inside.”

The Grammy-winner gave fansa look at his family’s private birthday celebration before the bash. Eltonshared an Instagram of him and his sons, Elijah and Zachary, at their home. Thethreesome is seen giddily eyeing a rather delicious looking chocolate cake. Along with the pic, Elton wrote: "Birthday bliss." Inaddition, the British crooner posted a photo of him holding a huge birthday card hehad received for the big day, as well as a touching video montage that thankedfans for their support. “So manymemories in this video,” he wrote. “Thank you for all the birthday wishes andyour support over the years."
