The MAC Cosmetics’ Selena La Reina collection is finally here

Inspired by the 1999 Selena film, the Mi Siento Muy Excited, $35 eye shadow palette is a true collector’s item. It’s dazzling packaging pays homage to the late singer’s rhinestone signature bras. The 8-piece palette features half-matte and half-shimmery hues with thoughtful names like It’s A Texas Thing, for the glittery mauve and Como Te Extrano for the soft muted pink.

Before revealing more details on the second collection, MAC announced the fan fave Bidi Bidi Bom Bom Lipglass would be making a comeback. Accompanying the bubblegum pearly gloss are two other finishes inspired by Latina YouTuber Desi Perkins and Selena’ favorite meal — pizza. “During the first collection, Desi and I joked about names and told me, ‘You gotta call one of the products The Washing Machine. It’s one of my favorite parts of her story,’ and so we did,” explained Selena’s sister.

“The rose detail was so important for us as a family. It’s like Selena’s signature so we crafted a design that would honor that,” expressed Suzette when it came to producing the lipsticks. Ensuring that all the lipsticks shades compliment all skin tones, Selena’s sister tested out all the colors on a variety of people. “I want all women to have a little piece of Selena with them to feel beautiful with one swipe of lipstick,” Suzette lovingly said.
