1. Well-defined bangs

For the 2008 CNN Heroes event, the actress flaunted the perfect fringe for her face shape. The cut was slightly longer at the sides and shorter at the back, giving it an asymmetric touch perfect for round faces.

2. Unexpected cut and color

In 2009, the city of Toronto was witness to this radical change in Selena’s style. Her first experiment with the bob cut was a huge success. Asymmetrical and with a side parting, this style is also a flattering look for rounder faces. And the lighter, warmer color? Wow!

3. Soft layers

A year later, Selena had opted to grow her hair off, but this time with layers at the ends adding volume and body. Want to copy this look? Ask your stylist to cut the ends with a blade or use specialized texturizing shears. Leave it to the pros.

4. Soft shine

Selena rocked this gorgeous cut in 2011. The glossy look and subtle highlights are key to making this hairstyle work. If you have a round face like Selena, adding body with a blow-dry and styling it with a side parting is a simple and effective trick to balance your features.

5. Bright highlights

In 2012, added a colorful – and maybe a little rebellious? – touch to her hairstyle. In Mexico, during her We Own the Night tour, she experimented with pink and blue highlights for a girly touch with an edge.

6. Long and sexy

For the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, we saw a new side of Selena when she teamed her as well as her jaw-dropping lingerie-inspired look with a super long mane. Her waist-length tresses were straight but with a hint of movment, and delicate auburn babyights that made her hair shine.

7. Limelight layers

The year 2014 saw Selena show her softer side with shoulder length waves and subtle chestnut lowlights. Moving away from what we were used to seeing on her, she started to wear a very defined middle parting. If you want to steal this look, choose a cut with lots of layers.

8. Shockingly straight

Selena’s long locks really caught our eye in 2015. Flirting with a much darker color than usual, the star went for it with sleek and sheek bone-straight locks and a severe middle part – a fabulous look to team with her sexy backless dress.

9. Long with soft curls

In 2016, Selena tried out another gold star haircut for round faces: wearing your hair in soft waves and swept completely to one side. A softer Selena fell in love with length that year and even experimented with bangs again.

Selena went for her most radical cut to date when she debuted a platinum blonde bob at the 2017 American Music Awards. Diamond earrings and a leather jacket completed her '90s rocker girl look.

11. Yes to the brunette bob!

Selena, though, always seems to go back to basics. After the blonde look, she eventually went back to her natural hair, although stuck with one of the looks that works for her: the bob. Here she is in 2018 rocking her trademark bob but in a much darker shade.

The last stop on this journey is in L.A. in the year 2019, where we saw her dazzle with a delicate balayage with subtle waves and one of the most in accessories of the season: barrettes. This star has without a doubt experimented with it all: length, shades, and hairstyle – so we will definitely be keeping an eye out for what hairstyles she tries out next!
