But as the Hustlers actress approached the age of 50, she decided to take a different approach to health and fitness — and the proof is in the proverbial pudding, folks. Maintaining a healthy diet

JLo’s trainer Dodd shares how one of the big secrets to her flat abdominals is all in how she eats. He states that her strict diet is set in place with the goal to help maximize her overall health and fitness routine.

Five important food groups

She incorporates five major categories in her daily diet: lean proteins, veggies, healthy fats, healthy carbs and lots of water.

Saying ‘no’ to the bad and ‘yes’ to the good

The celebrity trainer shares how she makes a conscious effort to stay away from processed foods. Dodd recommends comprising your meals of mainly green veggies like spinach, broccoli, chard and kale.

Dodd reveals that the Bronx diva gets her healthy fats from foods like salmon, bass and nuts.

Drinking a lot of water

Jennifer reportedly drinks a minimum of seven glasses of water daily, according to Dodd. The World Health Organization reccomends that everyone should drink at least ½ a gallon of water daily.

Keep your energy high with lean proteins and healthy carbs

Eating the right proteins and carbohydrates helps bodies maintain lasting energy throughout the day as well as keeping those muscles in top shape.
