Si Riccardo Tisci pretendía crear misterio y expectación con su desfile Primavera/Verano 2021 para Burberry, sin duda lo ha conseguido. Como está ocurriendo con todos los eventos en estos últimos meses -sean relativos al mundo de la moda o no-, la presentación ha estado marcada por la crisis sanitaria internacional, motivo por el que se ha celebrado sin público presencial y se ha retransmitido por streaming. La temática tampoco ha dejado indiferente a nadie,  y es que el diseñador explicaba que se había inspirado en 'una historia de amor entre una sirena y un tiburón', por lo que el resultado ha sido una serie de prendas de estética acuática que las modelos han lucido en un enigmático bosque cuya localización no ha sido desvelada. 

Los tonos neutros tan característicos de la firma y su emblemático estampado de cuadros han convivido con numerosas prendas en colores azules decoradas con prints abstractos que evocan las olas del mar. De nuevo, la gabardina, prenda histórica de Burberry por excelencia, ha adquirido todo el protagonismo, reinventada en combinación de tejidos, dando paso al charol con efecto mojado, el denim y al cuero en clave patchwork
