Elle Macpherson looks a picture of contentment as she
soaks up the tropical sun and builds sandcastles with her two-year-old son
Arpad Flynn Busson at her Bahamas retreat. “This is the first house
we’ve ever decorated together. We’ve tried to make it comfortable as
well as elegant and, as we both like Anglo-Indian furniture, we’ve based
the decor around that,” says the model who, not for nothing is known as
‘The Body.’
For nearly two decades she’s survived the vagaries of the modelling world
and gone on to forge a highly successful career as an actress. The last year
marks some of her most exciting career milestones to date, with appearances in
the hit TV show Friends (which UK viewers can catch in the upcoming
series), and the role of co-host for both Sky’s Oscar coverage and the
World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. She’s also just finished filming a
top-secret mini-series in Vancouver, Canada.
Yet the 37-year-old supermodel still manages to balance a busy work life with a
fulfilling and loving relationship with her partner of five years French
financier Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson, 37, and their young son Flynn.
“I’m very lucky,” she says. “I have a wonderful partner and
beautiful son - the two most important people in my life. While I enjoy my work
very much, I’m very careful about what I do and always make sure it’s
not too disruptive to my home life.
“I’m definitely ready to have more children because I don’t want
Flynn to be an only child for too long. Whenever that happens, it will be the
right time.”
