In Stephanie Nogueras’ world, the word ‘impossible’ doesn’t exist. Born in Camden, New Jersey, with Puerto Rican roots, she has been deaf since birth, but this hasn’t hindered her success in the film and television industry. Surprisingly, Stephanie’s original career path wasn’t acting; she studied to become a therapist, focused on helping the deaf community.

“Having Latino and deaf talent on screen is something that excites me a lot. I would like the deaf community to come together in general,” she said in an interview with ¡HOLA! Americas.“

During this journey, she relocated to Los Angeles with her then-boyfriend, who was also an actor. He encouraged her to audition, and she landed her first role on her very first opportunity. Since then, she has not stopped in her acting career, all while remaining dedicated to helping the deaf community and being a voice for them. Stephanie is the only member of her family with hearing impairment, so when she decided to pursue acting, her family feared she wouldn’t achieve her dreams. Now, after more than a decade in the industry, she is one of the faces fighting every day for the inclusion of people with different abilities in Hollywood productions.

Throughout her TV career, Stephanie has appeared in series and movies such as “Switched at Birth” (ABC), “Unfriended: Dark Web,” “Grimm” (NBC), “Accused” (Fox), among others. Currently, she’s part of the cast of the Peacock series “Killing It,” where she plays the character Camille, showcasing her talent and ability to transition from drama to comedy. When she’s not in front of the cameras, Stephanie is also a mentor and dedicates her time to teaching American Sign Language and Deaf culture to students and families, all based on her personal experiences.

And if that wasn’t impressive enough, Stephanie also runs her own production company, Pepita Productions, which serves as a platform to elevate and amplify the voices of those often overlooked. In her personal life, Nogueras is married to engineer Krystof Litomisky, and they are proud parents to a little girl named Luna.
