Eglantina del Carmen Zingg Puppio, known as Eglantina Zingg, is one of the most recognized celebrities on Latin American television. She has also made a name for herself as a model, actress, and philanthropist. Eglantina, who surrounds herself with celebrity friends like Ricky Martin and Alejandro Sanz, initially studied marine biology and by a twist of fate, became one of the most famous faces in the region’s entertainment industry.
After realizing that science was not her path, Zingg began knocking on doors and ventured into modeling, where she made a name for herself on runways in major fashion capitals such as Milan and Paris. As a model, she has been the face of various brands, including Mercedes Benz, Nike, Levis, Richard Tyler, Vivienne Westwood, Carolina Herrera, and Roberto Cavalli, among others.
Her big break came with the show “L’Gueveo” for MTV Latin America. In her early years on television, she hosted the MTV Latin Music Video Awards and the MTV Latin America Movie Awards. Zingg was one of the pioneers in hosting international events, garnering the interest of entertainment channels and platforms in reaching the Latin audience.
In her acting career, Eglantina has appeared in several movies and television programs and has hosted several shows like Project Runway Latin American and Miss Venezuela 2012. In addition, Eglantina hosts a podcast titled “The Zingg with double G,” featuring guests such as Ana de la Reguera, Camila Coelho, and Emily Estefan.
Her philanthropic work is also remarkable, as she has been a spokesperson for multiple causes throughout her career. She is currently the CEO of the Goleadoras Foundation, which empowers girls and young people through soccer, and she has also led the Proyecto Paz Latinoamérica to help children in Latin America through culture and sports.
