LOUIS EMERICK AND
LISA CRAWFORD

It was a wonderful moment for Lisa Crawford when Brookside star Louis Emerick proposed to her as she lay in bed in the early hours of the morning. And it was a moment that left Lisa completely speechless.

“She knew nothing about it,” explains Louis, who plays pizza parlour manager Mick Johnson. “I hid the diamond ring I’d bought in the car boot and went out to get it at three in the morning. Then I went down on both knees.”

To celebrate their engagement the 46-year-old actor and his fiancée, 27, held a champagne reception for more than 200 guests at a Liverpool hotel. Many of the guests were Louis’ co-stars from the Liverpool soap, and there were even famous faces from Liverpool FC, as John Barnes turned up to wish his friend all the best. Lisa and Louis met at a nightclub in 1995 and eventually became an item after becoming more and more fond of each other. “I think the world of Lisa,” says Louis. “She is a beautiful woman and I have discovered a new beginning with her.”

The couple live together with their three-year-old son Reece and with Lisa’s ten-year-old son Shaun. Louis’ two daughters, Valerie, 26 and Zoe, 18, turn up for regular visits with his grandchildren.
